Program of Study
Knox provides a well-rounded liberal arts education that establishes a strong academic foundation for admission to selective colleges and universities. With a student-teacher ratio of 5:1, no one is lost in the back of the classroom at Knox. Our rigorous curriculum emphasizes critical thinking skills, creative problem-solving, and strong communication skills. Small class sizes provide individualized attention, with faculty members inspiring students to do their best. The Honors Portfolio Program, Advanced Placement classes, extra-curricular activities, field trips, and independent study add further depth to the Knox learning experience. The school also offers study skills instruction (also known as our ACCESS program) as well as evening supervised study.
Athletics
Athletic activities offers the opportunity to push a body and mind to its limits, while developing valuable life skills involving teamwork, leadership, and good sportsmanship. Knox provides a full spectrum of interscholastic, intramural, and leisure sports activities, including baseball, basketball, crew, cross-country, equestrian, golf, lacrosse, soccer softball, tennis, and volleyball.
Our facilities include a newly renovated gym complete with a state-of-the-art fitness center, fitness equipment located within senior dorms, a dance studio, three athletic fields, four tennis courts, a cross-country trail, waterfront for crew and other water sports, and outdoor riding rings for our Equestrian Program.
The athletic program also supports the school's central focus on maintaining active, healthy, and well-balanced lifestyles. In addition to interscholastic athletics, Knox provides access to a variety of recreational activities, from nature hikes to ice-skating, pick-up basketball and soccer games, as well as numerous other recreational and leisure-time activities.
